Of the Light - Exhibition Now on at Photographique, Bristol
In parts experimental, contrived, and cinematic, Of The Light is a multi-perspective exploration of the relationship between environment and photography. Orchestrated by three very different photographers, Of The Light is a juxtaposition of cityscape and landscape, haze and clarity, narrative and accident, featuring work by Oliver Haines, Jack Offord, and Jonathon Stokes.
These are some low res images of the large scale prints I have up in the exhibition:

Hazy Exmoor Seascapes
Despite the sideways rain, the silver and purple light from the sea managed to punch through for me to take these seascapes.

Modelling Shoot with Marley Hamilton
Some frames from a recent modelling shoot with model Marley Hamilton. This is the first time I've attempted something like this so Marley went easy on me and did all the hard work..

Peer into the dark
Some little experiments with extreme underexposure around Clifton Suspension Bridge, Bristol.

Arnos Vale Cemetery, Bristol
Taking advantage of the frost, the beautiful and huge Victorian cemetery/nature reserve looked stunning, with a foreboding atmosphere. I cropped some of these to create a more cinematic composure - maybe one day this will make a great location for a film project.

Caves of Cheddar Gorge
I took a little break from editing recently to visit the caves of Cheddar Gorge - well worth a visit, they've got some great lighting which makes playing around with composition a lot of fun.

Back to the M32 Bridge for another Long Exposure
This time round, digital rather than film. Overlaid and shifted digitally but simply to emulate the feeling of intoxication brought on by the constant spinning of city lights and millions of people all moving together in sync.

New Black and White Portraits for Liz Mizon
This selection of photographs were taken for a friend, Liz, as part of her Documentary MA thesis on portraiture photography. Liz wanted to be pictured in her old dance leotard, in the Dance space of Coexist, Hamilton House, Stokes Croft. For me, this was a chance to practice with continuous lighting for stills photography.

Long Midnight Exposures
These long exposures, taken with medium format film in Bristol, are experiments using a technique I discovered by accident, whereby the shutter remains open while the film is wound on, pulling and stretching light across one or several frames. I threw a few more elements into the mix by pre-exposing or post-exposing the first and last frames of a sequence.

New Photographic Panorama of Bristol From Cabot Tower
I hadn't been up Cabot Tower before so I trundled up today and took this sweep panorama, its quite hastily edited so please excuse any errors. Just a bit of fun really. Taken with a Canon 5DmkII and the very sweet Yashica 50mm f/1.7 ML lens.

A New Video for International Award Winning Aerial Artist Elena Marina
Set to a remix of 'Fratres' by the composer Arvo Part, myself and Elena shot this video (with the help of a couple of friends) to celebrate Elena's talents and her recent foray into the untested art of combining ballet with aerial hoop.

'Realities' Exhibition at The Parlour, Park Street, Bristol August 2011
The exhibition was an eclectic mix of paintings, illustrations, cameraless photography, and my own contribution, an installation version of 'Bristol Textures'. It ran for a week and was a good success, thanks to Bristol city council's approach to the use of unused shopfronts. Featuring: Becky Bellamy, Kirsty Macdonald, Peter Webb, and Jack Offord

Ridiculous and utterly pointless collaboration with painter and street artist Dan Petley screened to roaring reception at Easton Arts Trail 2011
'Easton Western', a highly charged and overwhelmingly intense standoff between three pillars of Easton's community; pub landlords Lemmy of The Chelsea Inn, Tony of The Greenbank, and 'James' of The Sugar Loaf, was screened to an excellent reception at The Chelsea Inn, as part of the 2011 Easton Arts Trail.
